No! Files stay exactly where WordPress uploaded them. Organization is virtual using taxonomies. Zero file system changes.
Can one file be in multiple folders?

Will this work with my existing media?
Yes! All existing files can be organized immediately. Uncategorized items appear in “Uncategorized” folder until you move them.
Does the media modal support folders?

Does search really search file names?
